Reuters reports that the IMF plans to discuss the possibility of creating an aid program for Ukraine in particular because of the difficult social and financial conditions created by Russian invasion
This initiative will extend not only to Ukraine, but also to other countries that have suffered economically due to Russia’s illegal occupation of Ukrainian territories.
Voting for the project is planned for October. Member countries will be able to borrow up to 50% of their IMF quota under rapid financing and lending instruments serving low-income countries. Ukraine has a quota of about $2.8 billion.
