80% of the respondents polled by Hungary Today said that they oppose the ban on issuing EU visas to Russians. Also, the vast majority of Hungarians are against providing weapons to Ukraine.
This reaction of the respondents is caused by the fact that Hungary actively uses the narrative of “ineffectiveness of sanctions”. “It turned out that the active sanctions did not live up to the expectations and instead plunged the EU member states into a crisis, as attempts to abandon Russian energy sources led to extreme uncertainty and rising prices for oil, electricity, and gas”, – mentioned in the commentary to the analysis.
The contingent that participated in the survey claims that the supply of weapons to Ukraine and joint military exercises with the EU “only provoke more bloodshed.”
