To celebrate Ukrainian independence, the USA provided Ukraine with a record tranche of aid worth about 3 billion dollars, as mentioned in President Biden’s official statement from the 24th of August.

As the US Department of Defense announced, this tranche was provided within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). It is a long-term investment in supporting and building the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which continue to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty against Russian invaders.

As part of the new package, the United States, among other things, undertakes to provide Ukraine with:

Six additional NASAMS advanced anti-aircraft missile systems with additional missiles
Up to 245 thousand shots to 155-mm guns
Up to 65 thousand shots to 120 mm mortars
Up to 24 anti-artillery radars
“Puma” unmanned aircraft
“Vampire” anti-UAV systems.

“The United States, including proud Ukrainian-Americans, looks forward to continuing to celebrate Ukraine as a democratic, independent, sovereign and prosperous state for decades to come.”
